The filter press has an important place in many industries where it can concentrate the sludge and be used either during production or in the final treatment of effluents.
Basically, filter-pressed is a device used to separate (filter) under pressure liquids loaded with solid particles in suspension.
The filter-press is a machine composed of a set of vertical plates (made of cast-iron or polypropylene) covered with filter cloths.
Once they are tight the ones against the others by a hydraulic cylinder, they form chambers in which the slurry to be filtered is admitted under pressure.
During filtration, the filtrates are removed by some grooves behind the filter cloths whereas the solids are retained. At the end of the process, the “cakes” are released by the successive plate shiftings.
Choquenet offer several sizes of filter presses, from 250x250mm to 2500x2500mm with filtration pressures up to 30 bars.

THICKENING FILTERS or “EXOFALC” FILTER is high flowrate filters work at low pressure and have the advantages to prepare a mixing enriched with suspended matter and to extract a good quality filtered juice.
Exofalc Candle Filter is used in many industries such as the food industry (sugar refinery, cocoa, etc.), chemicals, alumina, pharmaceuticals, etc.
100% automatic combined with a technology allowing a high concentration of sludge makes it a formidable thickening filter adaptable to many fields.

Permanent visual control of the quality of the filtrate allows to react instantly in case of a punctured or clogged cloth, each ramp being individual, it can be isolated in order to maintain a high production rate.
